Candy company leases huge warehouse in Grand Prairie
Duke Realty Corporation announced last week that Farley’s & Sathers, one of the world’s top 25 manufacturers of candy, has leased the entire 1.06 million square foot, Grand Lakes II warehouse building located at 3953 Gifford Street.
The Grand Lakes II building had been the largest speculative warehouse/industrial building ever built in Texas
Minnesota based Farley’s & Sather is the maker of famous confectionery brands that include Super Bubble, Rain-Blo, and Brach’s candy. The company has been operating out of two facilities in Arlington and has expanded beyond its current capacity. The million square foot building at Grand Lakes satisfied the large size requirement needed to consolidate the company’s inventory/distribution operation into one building with unparalleled access and visibility.
In a prepared statement, Jeff Thornton, Senior Vice President, Duke’s Dallas operations said, “Duke is excited to have Farley’s & Sathers consolidate its operations under one roof at Grand Lakes II. We are pleased to see such an expansion during this tough economic period.”
Farley’s & Sathers was represented by Al and Trip Leon of Leon Brother Real Estate. Curt Hefner represented Duke in the transaction. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
