AirHogs score nine in the third inning, beat Captains 15-2

The Grand Prairie AirHogs came back from their Tuesday night loss to the Shreveport-Bossier Captains to win 15-2 in a morning game today at the Fair Grounds Park in Shreveport.

The AirHogs scored two runs in the second inning and then put on an offensive display in the third, scoring nine runs on nine hits. They went on to score four more runs and get an impressive 18 total hits in the game.

Left fielder Noel Trevino led the AirHogs with four hits and batted in three runs. Center fielder Aaron Garza and first baseman Cesar Nicolas each had three hits. Garza hit two doubles and Nicolas hit a solo homerun in the ninth as he led the team with four runs-batted-in.

Starter Matt Green pitched seven innings and evened his record to 1-1. He held the Captains to eight hits and two runs as he struck out seven batters. Reliever Luke Prihoda pitched the final two innings and did not give up a hit.

The AirHogs have one more game with the Captains, tomorrow at 7:05 p.m., before their Friday home opener at QuickTrip Park
