Man killed during argument

Grand Prairie police say an ongoing argument lead to a shooting that killed a 19 year-old man Wednesday night in 1700 block of Coffeyville Trail.

Police were dispatched around 10:45 p.m. to investigate the report of gun fire and located Samer Hamdan, 19, in the street with a gun shot wound to the chest. Officers and witnesses attempted to stop the bleeding and performed CPR. Hamdan was transported by Grand Prairie Fire/Rescue to Medical Center of Arlington where he was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses told detectives that Edward Gutierrez, 21, shot Hamdan after the two got into an argument. Police were also told that Hamdan, who dates Gutierrez’s sister, has had an ongoing disagreement with Gutierrez.

Gutierrez fled the scene in a red, 2008 Chrysler 300, Texas tag DZB-393, and is still at large.

Detectives have obtained a murder warrant for Gutierrez’s arrest and ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts to call Grand Prairie “Tip Line” at 972-237-8877 or Crime Stoppers at 972-988-8477
