Man killed in motorcycle accident
Police said Omar Carmichael, 38, was driving south bound on Great Southwest Parkway when he apparently lost control of his 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle while braking to avoid collision with a north bound car that made a left turn in front of him. He slid through the intersection and collided with a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Flavia Brobbey, 18, of Arlington who was turning west onto Pioneer Parkway.
Carmichael was transported to Medical Center of Arlington where he was pronounced dead. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Neither Brobbey nor the two passengers in her vehicle were injured.
This is the city’s 7th traffic fatality this year and police said the accident remains under investigation.
