New children’s program at the Main Library

The Grand Prairie Main Library announced the debut of a new children’s program, Fun with Phonics story time. The weekly story time for kids 3-5 years old will use games and crafts to build letter and sound recognition, preparing kids to read. The library has added another session per month of Baby Bookworms, a story time for babies 0-17 months.

Other children’s programs at the Main Library include:

  • Fun With Phonics - a new weekly program for kids from 3 to 5 years. Stories, games, songs, videos & other fun activities are designed to improve letter and sound recognition. Librarian Allison Smith, children and their parents will work their way through the alphabet with a new letter each week. The first two sessions will be Thursday, September 17 and 24 at 11 a.m.
  • Baby Bookworms programs - songs, games, and activities for babies 0 to 17 months. Join us on Wednesday, September 9 and 23 at 2 pm.
  • Once a month, put on your jammies for Pajama Story time, a family-oriented evening event. The next Pajama Story time is September 17 at 7 pm.
  • Story times for toddlers and preschoolers - Tuesday and Wednesdays at 11 am.
