Arlington man drowns at Joe Pool boat ramp
A Saturday night accident at Joe Pool Lake took the life of an Arlington man when he accidentally backed his truck and trailer into the lake around 8:45 p.m. while trying to load a boat at the Lynn Creek Marina boat ramp.
Witnesses told authorities that Gene Ferguson, 77, tried to swim ashore from his submerged truck, but lost consciousness while in the lake. Bystanders pulled him from the water and administered CPR.
Ferguson was transported by ambulance to Medical Center of Arlington where he was pronounced dead.
