Police halts traffic for officer’s funeral procession

Grand Prairie police shut down the north bound lane of State Highway 360 Tuesday afternoon for the funeral procession of Arlington Police Officer Craig Story’s that traveled from Grand Prairie’s Crossroads Christian Church to Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.

Mourners lined the highway near Camp Wisdom Road to pay their respects to the motorcycle officer who was killed in the line of duty on January 13 when he collided with a school bus while trying to stop a traffic violator.

One mourner, Margarita Rojano of Arlington, spoke emotionally while fighting back tears, “He was so young and had so much to live for. I feel a lot for his family that he left behind.”

Rojano added that she wanted to attend the funeral service but felt it was for the officer’s family and friends, “So I came here to be near him.”
