Council recognizes Sister City and Employee of the Month

Council Member Richard Fregoe recognized a delegation of educators from Grand Prairie’s sister city, Gueishan, Taiwan, at Tuesday’s City Council Meeting.

The educators are in town to make preparations with the Grand Prairie ISD for the upcoming visit of several Gueishan high school students as part of the sister city arrangement. In June, several Grand Prairie ISD high school students will visit Gueishan.

The Council also recognized the City of Grand Prairie Employee of the Month, Angie Phillips, Senior Office Assistant in the Housing and Neighborhood Services Department for nine years.

In introducing Phillips, Housing and Neighborhood Services Director Bill Hills said she “has epitomized what it is to provide first class and world class service on a regular basis.”

“Angie has done a remarkable job in handling complaints, giving people directions, handling incoming calls, and has shown a willingness to go well above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to providing a professional image and provide assistance to her fellow employees as well as our clientele,” Hills said.

He added that Phillips’ supervisor said, “Her [Phillips] standards of integrity are very, very high.”
