UIL announces high school football and basketball district realignment
Monday, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced its football and basketball district assignments for the 2010 through the 2012 seasons.
Grand Prairie and South Grand Prairie were placed in District 5 along with Cedar Hill, Mansfield, Duncanville, and three schools, Mansfield Legacy, Mansfield Timberview and Midlothian, that were moved up from Class 4A to Class 5A.
The University Interscholastic League realigns districts every two years to adjust for enrollment changes and to keep schools within a certain distance in order to limit traveling to and from competitions.
