Chamber to honor high school seniors

The Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Great Texas Scholar’s Luncheon on March 10 at Lone Star Park. Presented by the Chamber and Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc., Marshall Street Site, the luncheon will honor over 300 of Grand Prairie’s finest high school students who will have an opportunity to receive scholarships, door prizes, and each student will get a goodie bag.

To qualify as a Great Texas Scholar, each student must:

Maintain a 2.5 grade point average
Pass all sections of the exit level TAKS
Attend a City Council Meeting
Attend a School Board Meeting
Complete 10 hours of community service
Attend a Workforce Readiness Certification Class
Participate in a practice job interview with a member of the business community

Community support is still needed for:

Student lunch sponsors - $25 each (45 needed)
Scholarships - $250 and up
Door prizes
Registration assistance
Bus host and greeters
Goodie bags and filler items
