Teen killed driving wrong way on I-30
Sergeant Eric Hansen, Traffic Division, said Daniel Solis, 19, was driving a 2000 Toyota Celica in the wrong direction on I-30 when he collided with a 2006 Dodge pickup. A 2002 Jaguar travelling behind pickup collided with the truck and struck the center wall.
The impact of the collision ejected Solis from his car and he died at the scene.
Six others injured in the accident were transported by ambulance to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The collision shut down eastbound I-30 for more than four hours.
Sergeant Hansen said the accident remains under investigation and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
This is the 10th traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year.
